Why Haven’t You Been Healed Yet?
As a pastor and lover of Jesus, I have a deep desire to see people saved, healed and delivered of their sin. The Bible is very clear when we read God is going to allow sickness, disease and other issues come to us when we walk in disobedience to Him. It is also clear that we lived blessed lives when we walk in righteousness. It isn’t that God is an angry God, it is that He is a wrathful one. There is a difference between the two words. God will pour out his wrath over those who refuse to see Him as a King and their Creator. We can raise up a hand of hate towards Him for this but truly that would be a mistake on our parts.
“If you will follow My commandments…” God has said this over and over again, but as people we often refuse to yield to the Love of God instead of His wrath.
Every time you partake in sin, you are being sued…
Honestly, I am surprised by this, but I have asked many Christians, “Tell me what some of the commandments of God are?” Most stand in front of me and can’t even name one. The most common answer is “Love one another”. What is so interesting is when a believer refuses to learn and follow the commandments of the Lord, it like saying to a King, “I really don’t care what Your rules are!” Goodness… how silly is that? Yet the truth is, this God of ours, this King, He is not going to let us get away with abusing His authority. We will all pay a steep price for disobedience.
You might be interested to know God holds who nations guilty because of their leaders. When the top sins before God, He will judge a whole nation for it.
Jesus Himself said, “If you love Me, you will follow My commands.”
I have a question for you. Are you one of the millions of Christians who suffer with sickness, infirmity or worse some awful disease? Are you at the point in your life where you might want to come to terms with why you are sick? I hope so. I can tell you your sickness is a direct result of sin. We need to think of our sin in this way; every time we partake we are being sued in heaven. You might wonder who is doing the suing. Let me show you:
Revelation 12:10 (NKJV)
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
Satan has not been cast down yet. This is a present tense verse. The scriptures talk about the accuser and our lives. And interestingly enough, Jesus spoke about it as well. Here it is:
Matthew 5:25 (NKJV)
25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Those are the words right out of your Savior’s mouth.
Have you ever been summoned to court before? Maybe someone was suing you… What would happen if you decided to not show up? Just as on the earth, you would be found guilty by the judge. This is what happens in Heaven when we don’t bother to show up to court.
When the kingdom of darkness entices us to sin and we decide to partake in it, know this, you will be judged in Heaven. Whether you show up or not. The kingdom of darkness loves it when we don’t show up. They want a ruling in your life that gives them access to your flesh. This is where sickness come from, as well as disease. It matters little to me what your theology or doctrine is. I am teaching you a truth so that you can be set free. You should also know each time you partake in the same sin, you are being judged again and your sin grows in size. (James 1) This is why sin becomes very difficult to get rid of over time.
Jesus told us that there are some spirits which are only going to come out through prayer and fasting. This is what He was talking about. Once we let it grow and become a strong-man in us, we are going to pay a steep price to get set free. We need to think of our sin as a direct breach between us and God. Also, that it is an invitation for more sin to come into us.
People who are in love with Jesus and still play with sin knowingly are in for a tough ride. While the love of God and His Son Jesus will be for you, this doesn’t mean God will turn and look the other way, ignoring it. Some sin results in chains and fetters being placed on the person. This is why so many people are hunched over as they go through life. They are carrying heavy weights on their shoulders and body.
This is why addictions are so hard to break in people. These are issues of sin which have grown to the point where the person with it is miserable.Drug addicts don’t know why they can’t stop… all they know is they can’t wait to get their next fix. Their sin is huge and will entice them to ask for more. Ultimately their sin will rule their life. Sexual addicts suffer in the same way.
James 5:19-20 (NKJV)
19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,
20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.
There is sin which leads to death…
When I go into the marketplace, I always look at the people. Many are bent over, some are in wheelchairs. Almost everyone shows premature signs of aging. Hair loss, obesity are very common in our culture today. All of which is a direct indicator of sin in the persons life. The people that I want to really help are those who seem to be pulling on chains behind them as they walk. They are almost groaning as they walk forward, never realizing they are actually pulling chains. The majority of people today look gray, old and worn out. Their sin is killing them.
If we know sin leads to death, would it also make sense sin has to lead us to death through sickness and disease?
Is God just an angry Creator who doesn’t care about us? Of course not. He sent His Son Jesus to go to a cross for us. He saw that we are prone to play with Satan and his kingdom instead of walking rightly with Him. God has made a way for us, but at a terrible cost; His Son Jesus.
God is the epitome of love. But He is a King and He will not be dictated to by His creation. We bend a knee to this King and follow His precepts if we want to have a wonderful life. There is no gray area with God. In fact, you might remember, Jesus told us what He thought about lukewarm people.
Revelation 3:15-16 (NKJV)
15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
The good news is all of us can walk cleanly with God. We can walk as a holy people, but there is only one way to find ourselves living that type of life. Repentance. Your salvation is not a cheap thing to God. He is going to expect you to do whatever it takes to get right with Him. He is always available to you. He doesn’t close office and make you wait. Anyone can get their life right with God, but we have to do it His way.
You need to trust someone
- Go to someone you trust and confess your sin
- Then ask Jesus to forgive you of it while your friend listens
- Jesus is faithful to forgive if you are really repentant. He knows your heart.
- Ask the person who has heard your confession to bind up your sin in the Name of Jesus
- Have that person cast the sin out of you
- Have that person plead the Blood of Jesus into your life
Jesus said something you need to realize here. “Go and sin no more…” If you want to be worse off the second time you need prayer, run back towards your sin. I promise you, it will be harder the next round. Jesus told us this.
Luke 11:24-26 (NKJV)
24 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’
25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”
I run into many believers who refuse to confess their dark secrets. They would rather be infirm or have some terrifying disease than tell the truth about their life. If that is you, get it out so that the Light can shine on your sin. This isn’t a game with God and it surely isn’t a game with your life. Your sin wants to keep you under it’s grips. As a pastor I long that you would take a stand against it and get your life back.
With love,
Pastor Jeff Mauer
