Do You Dress For Success
A few years ago, my Associate Pastor and I walked into a Wal-Mart store and headed down one of the main aisles towards the back. We were on a mission from God. There was someone there who needed a touch from Him, so we were making ourselves available to whoever needed that touch. Mark and I work together to further the Kingdom of God here on Earth as we both minister in healing and deliverance. I am blessed that Pastor Mark also walks as a seer for God.
If you don’t know what a seer is, they are people who God has allowed to ‘see’ into the spiritual realm. These people are all over the earth and are used to edify the Body of Christ. The Bible has a number of stories of seers in it. One of my favorites is Samuel who is found in the Old Testament. That man not only was a seer, but a Prophet of God. He not only saw into the spiritual realm, but had no problem hearing the voice of God.
There are many seers on the Earth right now
Seers are able to see both angels and demons. Some seers have encountered Heaven and Hell. I have personally met around twenty five seers throughout my life. At one time I had fourteen in my church. God has moved many of them around in His Body and now we have three. Many churches today have seers sitting in their pews but don’t realize it all because the person who has that gift is afraid to talk about it. They know most people won’t believe if they tell them what is happening around them. That’s going to change soon though. God is opening up the spiritual realm in ways I have never encountered before. He is about to move big time.
Back to the story…
As Mark and I walked down one of the main aisles of the store, all of the sudden my left knee felt like a hammer had hit it. I couldn’t even take another step. I was sure one of the bones had snapped. Oh, it hurt terribly. “Mark, something is wrong with my knee!”
Mark said, “I saw what hit it!”
“What?” I asked.
He said, “It looked like a missile coming from the back of the store.”
As I stood there the pain was the same as I what I would imagine if a leg bone was snapped. I couldn’t move.
I said, “I don’t think I can walk out of here”. Standing there it was clear to both of us we were not moving very quick now. “Oh, the devil!”
Looking at Mark, I said, “Mark, will you get me a shopping cart?” He nodded his head and left me to get one. When we don’t know what to do, pray. That is exactly what I began to do. I didn’t care what people thought about me praying out loud. This was a battle and I was determined to win it. It’s who we are. Victors in Christ!
Praying, “Father, in the Name of Your Son Jesus I declare this weapon formed against me to be nothing. I command my knee to be healed now in Jesus Name. I plead the Blood of Jesus into my knee now for my healing. Thank You Father!” I checked to see if I was healed and placed some weight on my knee. The pain wasn’t nearly as bad but I still couldn’t walk on it.
Mark returned with a cart and I used it like a crutch. I let my weight settle on it instead of my bad leg. We talked for a few minutes about what happened and continued to pray. I knew I needed to get out of the store.
The demonic realm hates us as humans
Continuing, “Father, I speak healing into my knee now. In the Name of Jesus I declare my knee healed!” We began to make our way out of the store and by the time I got to the front door I was healed. All Glory to God and His Son Jesus alone. The Name of Jesus avails much when we use it in authority.
As we walked to the car, I thought to myself how amazing God is. More, how amazing it is when we know how to pray and work with Heaven for glorious results.
Over the next few days I thought about how much the demonic realm hates us as humans. For those who walk with God, His Son Jesus and Holy Spirit, the enemy is always scheming. I am so grateful to know God is for us when we are one of His children. All we have to do is walk by faith and believe for what we ask.
I could have been naked
The other thing I realized was how important it was that I had the full armor of God on when I was attacked. I considered what could have happened to me that day in Wal-Mart had I not been wearing it. Goodness…
Do you put on your armor every day? If not, you might as well be going through life naked. Without the full protection of God in your life, you are a sitting duck to the enemy. Paul taught us in the book of Ephesians to put on the armor.
Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV)
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Why would Paul tell us to do this? Let’s go back and look at the prior verse.
Ephesians 6:10 (NKJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
In order to walk in the strength of the Lord and the power of His might, each of us need to have the right clothing on. Realize the clothing I am talking about here is spiritual not physical. Yet it operates as if it is physical. This clothing is as real as you are. You just can’t see it yet. Notice I said ‘yet’.
I want to share with you how I pray over my life every morning. In doing so, I hope it will give you a pattern to pray in your own life.
“Father, I love You and thank You for all that You do for me and my household.
I come before You now and ask for the full armor of God to be placed on me.
The armor of Light
The armor of thorns
The armor of Your Glory
The robe of righteousness
The robe of the beauty of holiness
The robe of success and favor with God
I put on Christ and ask for the mind of Christ
I declare every organ in my body is free of any sickness or disease
I declare every blood vessel, vein and other channel is free of sickness or disease
I declare my mind to be clean and clear of any sickness or disease
I ask God that You would renew in me a clean heart, a clean mind and a right spirit
I declare I will never die of sickness or disease or out of some calamity
I plead the Blood of Jesus into my flesh
Thank You Father for allowing me to carry these requests and walk with You”
These prayers change slightly every day as Holy Spirit leads me. There are days I ask for a different robe than the day before. But for the most part, this is how I pray.
All the robes are made out of Light
Every request is asking God for a different type of Light to be placed on me. Think of it as the way you would put on your under garments and your outerwear. All of it makes up the whole.
You might find it interesting that many people put on robes of anger, bitterness, hurt, wounds, judgments and offense. The list is long of what we ask the enemy to put on our lives every day.
Have you ever said something like, “I am so angry!” Well, you should also know you arrayed yourself in a covering of that. Can you tell when someone is angry? Of course you can. They are wearing an outfit of anger for the world to see. By the way, in order to know that, you have to see spiritually. You may just not realize you do that.
Would you get up in the morning and say, “I do not want to go to work today! I hate the mornings…” You have just put on a robe of complaining and hate. It is that simple. Just know you will bear the weight of that garment all day long. With it comes chains and bindings. All in the spiritual. But know it comes with weight.
Put on the Light every day. It has no weight.
Are you dressing for success? You should know success begins in the spiritual realm first. God is in control of our lives whether we believe in Him, His Son Jesus or not. Each of us can dress well in the physical but end up spiritually bankrupt. Many dress with a poverty spirit. Just go to any store and look at how people wear their cloths. They tell you what is going on with them spiritually.
You are a spiritual being first and foremost. Dress the part and watch what God does with your life.
With love for who you are,
Pastor Jeff Mauer
Maybe right now you are wondering if you are even saved. Maybe you have never opened up that incredible heart of yours to let Jesus enter you. Oh… you have no idea what you are missing. Right now is a great time to drop to your knees and say to God, “I am a sinner! I need You God more than ever!”
Then take your hands and open the doors over your heart and ask Jesus to come into you. He will. When you feel that happen, and you will, close those doors and guard them the rest of your life. Go get into a church with a pastor who loves his flock. Get water baptized and do this thing called life right.
